So, Can Someone Scan a Card Through Your Wallet?
Under the right conditions, a compatible contactless card may communicate with a nearby reader.
But the reality is more complicated than someone simply walking past you and instantly cloning your credit card.
Reading distance, card type, technology, wallet materials and the security measures implemented by card issuers and payment networks can all affect what is possible.
Modern payment systems also incorporate multiple security measures of their own.
So RFID or NFC communication does not automatically mean someone can simply obtain all of your banking information and duplicate your card.
